From mid-May until the end of August, our staff works hard to help us provide our guests with spectacular trips at our location in the Canadian bush. Located 180 miles Northeast of Winnipeg, you'll feel like you have the world to yourself, but yet we're not that far away from civilization. Only accessible by floatplanes, Dogskin has earned a reputation of having spectacular fishing, outstanding facilities and a dedicated staff that has provided great trips for decades. General Info
Our season is typically mid-May through the mid to end of August. We also have one or two weeks of hunting at the end of September that we'll only need a few staff for. Each employee has their own bedroom and share a bath with one other person. There is a large screened in area connected to the staff quarters for everyone to hang out in when you're not working. You're also allowed (and encouraged) to hang out at the lodge with our guests as well. All meals are included and you'll be eating the same great food as our guests - no KD for every meal here! We include 3 days of paid vacation during the season. Staff is given free phone calls and internet as long as it isn't abused.
Dockhand / Guide
Dogskin employs motivated individuals that serve both as dockhands and guides. Many of our trips are unguided, but there are quite a few fisherman that utilize the services of our guides. In addition to guiding and boat operation, this position involves light maintenance, cleaning of boats, grounds upkeep, floatplane handling and other duties as needed.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a self-starter, have guiding experience or at least plenty of fishing experience for walleye and pike and work well with others in a team environment. As with all jobs at Dogskin, teamwork is essential to the success of this position. A strong work ethic is not only desired, but required to be successful.
Waitress / Housekeeper
The waitress/houskeeper position at Dogskin is a great job for the organized and outgoing individual. Staff will serve breakfast and dinner at the lodge, assist in the preparation of shore lunch, clean the lodge and cabins, changeover cabins between guest trips and do various other related duties.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a self-starter, have serving experience or able to learn very fast and work well with others in a team environment. As with all jobs at Dogskin, teamwork is essential to the success of this position. A strong work ethic is not only desired, but required to be successful.
