What sets Dogskin Lake Lodge apart?
Spectacular fisheries on exclusive water, modern and well-maintained camps, honest promises, and hands-on ownership. We don't exaggerate our fishing — we let 25 years of repeat guests speak for themselves.
Who owns and operates the lodge?
Brothers Shad and Jamie Torgerson have owned and operated Dogskin Lake Lodge for over 25 years. You'll find one or both of them on-site throughout the season, personally ensuring every guest has an exceptional experience.

What species can I catch?
Walleye and northern pike are the primary species and what Dogskin Lake is famous for. You'll also find perch, burbot, and whitefish in the system.
When is the best time to fish?
There's no bad time to fish Dogskin Lake. Spring offers aggressive walleye action right after ice-out, summer provides consistent numbers, and fall is prime time for trophy northern pike.
Can I take fish home?
No. Dogskin Lake Lodge operates under a catch-and-consume policy — you can enjoy fresh walleye at your daily shore lunch, but no fish leave the lake. This policy is what keeps our fishery world-class year after year.
What fishing gear should I bring?
Bring medium-light to medium-heavy spinning rods. For walleye, pack jigs (1/4 and 3/8 oz), twister tails, and live bait rigs. For pike, bring heavier tackle with steel leaders, spoons, and spinnerbaits. The lodge has a tackle shop with essentials if you forget anything.
