Getting to Dogskin Lake

An 8-hour drive from the Twin Cities and a 1-hour scenic floatplane flight.

Driving to the Floatplane Base

Drive north on I-29 to Winnipeg, Manitoba, then take Highway 59 North to the Adventure Air floatplane base at 68 Airport Rd, Lac du Bonnet, MB R5G 1G9. Total drive from the Twin Cities is approximately 8 hours. Lac du Bonnet is just over an hour northeast of Winnipeg.

For those flying commercially, fly into Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG) the day before your departure. Rental cars are a cheap and popular option for the drive to Lac du Bonnet, but shuttle service is also available — contact us for rates and scheduling.

Your Floatplane Flight

From Lac du Bonnet, it's a scenic 45-minute to 1-hour floatplane flight into Dogskin Lake. Morning flights typically depart at 6 AM, 8 AM, or 10 AM. Our floatplane operator is Adventure Air, based at 68 Airport Rd, Lac du Bonnet.

Aircraft types include Turbine Otters, Beavers, and Cessna 185s. The flight over the boreal wilderness is an experience in itself.
