Dogskin Lake Lodge & Outposts (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at dogskin.com and the Dogskin Fishing mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account in the App you may sign in with email, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. We collect the email address and display name associated with your sign-in method. You may also use the App anonymously without creating an account; in that case we assign a random anonymous identifier.

Location Data

With your permission, the App collects precise GPS location to power the depth finder, record catch locations, save fishing waypoints, and display your position on the map. Location data is stored on your device and, when you enable sync, in our cloud database. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings.

Catch & Trip Data

The App lets you log fish catches (species, length, lure, depth, water temperature, GPS coordinates, notes), waypoints, and trips. This data is stored locally on your device and synced to Google Firestore when you are online.

Photos

You may attach photos to your catch entries. Photos are stored on your device and, when synced, uploaded to Firebase Storage. Photo EXIF data (GPS coordinates, timestamp) may be read to auto-fill catch location if available.

Apple Watch Data

If you use the Apple Watch companion app, catch data and waypoints are synced between your watch and iPhone via WatchConnectivity. No additional data is collected beyond what is described above.

Weather Data

The App retrieves weather forecasts and solunar data from Apple WeatherKit based on your current location. This data is displayed in the App and is not stored or shared.

Website Data

Our website uses Vercel Analytics for aggregated, anonymized performance metrics. If you submit a contact form or interact with our chatbot, we collect the information you provide (name, email, message). We use cookies for Google Ads and Facebook Pixel conversion tracking for visitors who arrive via those ad platforms.

How We Use Your Information

• →Display aggregated catch statistics on lodge leaderboards (species and length only — no personal information is shown publicly without your consent)
• →Respond to your inquiries submitted through the website or chatbot
• →Process booking and trip inquiries
• →Measure website performance via anonymized analytics

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party tracking in the App.

We use the following service providers to operate the App and website:

• →Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore database, Storage) — see Google's privacy policy
• →Apple WeatherKit (weather data) — see Apple's privacy policy
• →Vercel (website hosting and analytics)
• →Mapbox (map tiles on the website)

These providers process data only as necessary to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and, when synced, in Google Firestore and Firebase Storage. Firestore security rules ensure that only you can read and write your own data. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Catch and waypoint data you delete in the App is soft-deleted and permanently purged within 30 days. If you delete your account (see below), all associated data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Your Rights & Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the App's Settings screen. Upon deletion, your account, catches, waypoints, trips, and photos are permanently removed from Firebase. You may also contact us at webinfo@dogskin.com to request data export or deletion.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App or website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
